Ukrainian kids are asking Saint Nicholas, or Santa Claus, for weapons, air protection techniques and victory this Christmas, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Monday, the day the nation celebrates Saint Nicholas Day.

“On Saint Nicholas Day right this moment … Russian terrorists gave a present to Ukrainian kids with new strikes,” Zelensky stated in a digital deal with to the Joint Expeditionary Power (JEF) leaders’ summit. 

“Ukrainian kids of their letters to St. Nicholas are asking for air protection, for weapons, for victory – a victory for them, a victory for all Ukrainians,” he stated. “They perceive every thing, our youngsters. Allow us to act!”

Saint Nicholas Day, or Svyatyy Mykolay Day, is widely known in Ukraine on Dec. 19, primarily based on the previous Julian calendar, which is 13 days behind the Gregorian calendar. The saint’s feast day is often celebrated on Dec. 5 or 6 in Western Christian nations.

Zelensky urged leaders from the JEF — composed of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK — to proceed to help Ukraine with navy support to “velocity up the motion of our armed forces in the direction of victory.” 

“Our victory would be the victory for every of you, for Europe, on your individuals – a victory that the entire world, I am certain, seems to be ahead to,” stated Zelensky.
