Many users in Spain are waiting for the function of sending money through WhatsApp, however, this service is already available in some countries such as India and Brazil. As reported by WABetaInfo, the new beta of the app is introducing compatibility with Novi – Meta’s virtual wallet – to send and receive payments in the United States.
According to the latest analysis of the APK (file with extension) that XDA-Developers has carried out, the team has found pieces of code within a previous version of the WhatsApp beta that suggested the fact of requiring verification of identity and bank documents to send money through the application itself .
We could say that WhatsApp is in the process of integrating Novi into the app . WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot showing various options for using Novi within the instant messaging application . In the meantime, these security mechanisms may be integrated shortly.
What is and how does the WhatsApp payment service work?
According to the company itself, the objective of the service is to make “fast transfers” and the configuration is “simple” : you just have to add a debit card, an enabled debit combination or an accepted prepaid card and, once verified, you can send and receive money. Later, in the same chat, you can confirm the status of your transfers and even see past transactions in the payment settings.
When will it be available?
There is still no specific date to announce the availability of this feature and it is still unknown in which countries it will be integrated in the future. Who knows, maybe this ‘WhatsApp Bizum’ will be included in the features of the application in Spain in the coming months.
